Brass

Brass is a copper and zinc alloy, often used in jewelry production for its similarity to gold.

Brass jewelry is not recommended for piercings that are fresh, healing, or undergoing inflammatory processes. Also, prolonged wearing is not recommended because it will darken with time, causing skin
irritation.

Brass jewelry will become brown if wet (water, sweat, natural skin grease) so it's important to keep it dry.

Darkened brass can be easily cleaned using lemon juice, baking soda and water. Jewelry should be cleaned carefully and gently so as to avoid any damage. In Octopus studio we offer the service of jewelry polishing (see price list).

People prone to metal allergies can have allergic reactions to brass jewelry.
