Cleaning according to General cleaning procedure, saline + Octenisept spray (1.)
For the first couple of days a light bloody excrement can occur from the piercing canal so we recommend to wear daily pads.
For showering, you can use a liquid intimate care soap, but no more than once a day. For wiping after the shower use paper towels or toilet paper for the first two weeks, to reduce the chances of bacteria transfer. Swimming in pools, lakes, and taking baths in the bathtub should be avoided for at least 3 to 4 weeks. Swimming in the sea helps (any) piercing to heal because it's a natural saline (assuming that the sea is clean).
We recommend to avoid oral sex for at least 2 weeks and to use condoms for sexual intercourse for 2 to 4 weeks (depending on the healing period for each piercing). Be careful to
not pull on the piercing.
Vertical Clit Hood (VCH) i Horizontal Clit Hood (HCH)
VCH is a piercing 99% of women can do, while you need a certain type of anatomy for the HCH.
A thin tissue covering the clitoris is pierced, so there's no risk of losing the feeling in that area. Piercing the clitoris itself can be quite risky and we don't pierce it in Octopus.
Both piercings are 'problem-free', inflammations and infections are very rare, healing is fast and painless, and they do not need a lot of aftercare.
Currently one of the most popular female piercings - it takes more aftercare than VCH or HCH. Position and jewelry type make it a 'hybrid' between a navel and a surface piercing when it comes to healing and aftercare. It heals for 6 months because of the canal length. It's prone to rejection (the skin over the jewelry thins out with time - the body pushes the jewelry to surface).
The level of rejection depends on the anatomy, person's habits (sleeping, tight pants, etc.), correct positioning and jewelry.
You shouldn't wear very tight pants during the healing period and sleep on your belly, because the upper side of the jewelry could sink into the canal. If you notice this, come to get it checked immediately.
If you depilate this whole area, be careful so the jewelry doesn't get pulled (wax) and the chemicals don't enter the piercing canal (shaving cream and foam). During the healing
period we recommend to abstain from the usual depilation and shorten the hairs around the piercing with scissors, or tweeze them out.
Often hypertrophic scarring appears (growths looking like pimples under your skin). They can be handled pretty quickly if you come to an appointment as soon as possible - it's important not to wait it out because it won't disappear by itself.

Labia
Inner labia is very similar to VCH when it comes to healing and aftercare. Piercing is positioned on thin tissue and mucous membrane so it heals quickly and without problems. In the beginning there can be some light bleeding due to higher level of blood flow in that area.
Outer labia heal somewhat longer because the tissue being pierced is thicker and they are not in direct contact with the mucous membrane. As with Christina piercing, you should be careful with depilation to not pull on the jewelry or let chemicals enter the piercing canal. Outer labia piercing is usually felt in everyday activities (walking, riding the bicycle etc.) so we recommend to wear looser pants during the healing period.
